Medically boring

I like that diagnosis given to me by my physician. I went in last week for my annual wellness check. I am so blessed. I am "medically boring." There is nothing amiss in any of my blood work or any of the Little evaluations that he makes. I did have blood work done the previous week, and we discussed that there. My liver, kidney, thyroid, etc things are functioning well.

Like I said, boring. And I couldn't be happier.

MORE Little Liebhardt's! Flowers, and Fingers

Nick, Kaylee and kids stopped by briefly on their way to St. George for Spring break. Too bad it's going to be chilly and cool!

Tonight, Mike and I attended the oratorio, "Lamb of God" by Rob Gardner. Beautifully done. Our community is so amazing. Talented. Generous.

Today , I

1) Played pickleball for 1 1/2 hours,
That's a bruise on my index finger from hitting a ball with my finger instead of the paddle. It kind of stung for a bit when I first did it, but doesn't hurt now.

2) went to TWO stores

3) re-wrapped grapes in chocolate egg foil for April Fools Day tomorrow. Luckily, some grandkids dropped by to test them out for me. Haha

4) Rode my bike UP hill to Cindy Williams house for lunch with her and two friends ( Georgia Beth Thompson and Cindy's other ministering sister.Sis Calendar?)

5) was rather tired from that ride in the wind and took an afternoon nap after the kids headed down to St. George.

6) was in the bathroom a lot with a tummy ache. Guess I ate too many chocolates :-/

7) visited my Mom, but ForGot to bring her the springtime bouquet I picked for her.

8) I planted columbine seeds in a pot. They are from the seed library.

9) watered my front flowerbeds. I need to get a bucket and water the pots on the far side of the driveway. The hose doesn't reach that far..

We may get some rain and snow in coming days, which would be great. I planted seeds for peas in the garden in Saturday. I hope they grow! They are hardy and shouldn't mind the freeze.

Then Mike and I went to the concert.
Wow. Full day. I even cleaned a few toilets😃

A day with Littlest Liebhardt's

We arrived in Herriman on Friday night, just in time for dinner. Lasagna!

Baths, games, movie ("Wild Robot") bedtime...we were tired. Ha.

Saturday after lunch, Mike went grocery shopping at WinCo, the rest of us went to Oquirr Lake at Daybreak and enjoyed a brisk walk or scooter around a section of the lake. It was cool and cloudy, but dry. Then to a fun , new, big playground that was nearby.

A movie, some dinner,  basketball game that Mike watched, and then we were on our way home to cedar city. Arrival: 12:15 a.m. on Sunday morning. So nice to be home, safe and sound in our own home. That was an 11 day trip!

Denver stay

Our flight from San Antonio got in late on Wednesday. On Thursday, Mom's went to work, kids played, Mike and I visited Troy and Gayela, had lunch with them, then returned to Rossman's to "Tend"kids while Katie and Casey went to a company dinner Thursday evening. Hailey had a violin lesson-- that we all forgot about:-/ .  The twins played "Throw Throw Burrito" with me, and the older boys had friends over. I did laundry and made Banana Bread. Some more games.

We headed out for Salt Lake City on Friday morning. What a drive! So much wind. But, in truth, we were just relieved our new car didn't suffer any bunny terrorist attack and damage while parked at the Rossman's. It's happened to them,!! More than once, and even to the loaner. Yikes. Rabbit(s) damaged/destroyed the wiring in their engine while parked outside overnight. Multiple times! All to the tune of thousands of dollars of repair bills, unfortunately. So sad. And we are relieved it didn't happen to OUR car while there. 🐇

 Whew!

We did see an unusual procession on the freeway that morning as we left Denver. The first overpass we noticed had firefighters standing on top of their ladder struck, all in a row, several trucks on the bridge overpass. I did not get a photo of that.  The next overpass, the officers were standing along the fence , facing North. Then we could see it was for a . . . We didn't know what?!. A dump truck funeral?. I honestly could not tell.

Emergency vehicles on the overpass.

With people lined up at the north-facing fence.

A line of large trucks heading up a LOT of traffic.

Those didn't look like fire trucks to me, but they were three abreast, hindering traffic flow. So I took photos.

This is what I later found on the Internet:

It was, indeed, a funeral procession.

And we saw a Buc-ee's on I-25 North of Denver, too! Colorado's  first, the the furthest West location. It's the little things, and we (I?) apparently are obsessed with
Buc-ee's. Ha. Mike even offered to stop there for me, but I passed on the offer. 😆

San Antonio, Last Day

Gorilla weights

Was this really a 12 inch Pizza? I just happened to have a measuring tape, so Damian measured it. 13 inches. And we had TWO of them, please a couple of sandwiches, chips, appetizers. And a big box of leftovers.

A yeti.

This was the Dark Side Pizza restaurant. Movie props galore.
The crape myrtle trees are so bare!
A new fence between properties included a hole in the fence to let a branch grow!
And I got a sunburn the day before!

Wednesday night, we headed to the airport, turned in our rental car and headed to Denver. Katie brought us back to her house.
And our San Antonio Trip with Hayden was complete.

Sheds

Once upon A time, not too terribly many years ago, I did not know that antlers that fell off of deer's heads were called sheds. Apparently, it is common in some areas to collect those.

I guess I have been reading obituaries for a long time. One time I read an obituary, and the man was a collector of sheds. So I pictured a yard full of gardening sheds, storage sheds, little baby Barn sheds.

I thought it was a rather strange hobby to have. Only later did I find out what the hobby really entailed.

Thus the silly texts from our silly children this morning. Mike and I DID have a good laugh over it.

Another Film recommendation

"Rule Breakers." Mike and I took Mom a week or so ago in Cedar.

Good stuff. Based on a true story.

Check it out.

Tuesday March 18, San Antonio

 Pretty sunrise.

Just from the bedroom window. It was way prettier in real life. The camera doesn't do it justice.

Breakfast at Buc-ee's. I just wanted some cinnamon rolls and pastries. And we hadn't really been able to much shopping the first time we went. So eating and shopping was what we did! Just me and Mike and Hayden.

After Buc-ee's, we drove to the place where the "Space Walk" augmented reality experience was. "Verse Immersive". Mike and I failed miserably. 45 points. Hayden had over 400. Obviously, he figured out how to move on to different levels and we did not. Meh. It was an experience. Not one I will repeat. It WAS interesting and kind of fun, but a bit frustrating to us old fogies.

The pool in the afternoon was a BETTER experience. We were able to see Damian for a bit before he went into work.  He had already swum for 35 minutes and ran for several miles. Yikes. He has a triathlon in Galveston, TX in April. Tandy was out for a walk when we returned. She does about 5 to 6 miles through these winding hilly windy areas . The wind is back. Ugh. Tandy joined us in the pool ( Hayden napped).

No sunburns. Yay!

Steaks for dinner, relaxing , visiting. Laundry.

We head out tomorrow evening.

And I lied about the "no sunburns". I discovered at bedtime that my shoulders ARE sunburned.

This is after a night of sleep and no lotion. It didn't bother me, but I might think differently after shouldering a bag at the airport this evening.

Monday and Remember the Alamo

Construction all over the block!

Hayden and Mike were both listening to the narrative on our rented devices.

This is a gorgeous live oak tree, planted in 1912 as a 14 year old tree.

I loved this narrated diorama in the collections area. Who knew that much of the collections came from Phil Collins, a very huge fan of the Alamo. This presentation is narrated by him.

The Alamo was our first stop of the day. Me, Mike, Hayden. We got there around 10 am. So crowded! It's Spring Break for many schools, so there were lots of families. And not families. And foreign tourists. So many people.  We used the audio self- guided tours with hand sets. The museum was included in our ticket. Nice museum. There is much still under construction as they renovated the grounds, expand and improve. The Alamo church itself is still the same, but archeologists and researchers are still finding things.  When we were here before, there was a shady courtyard with pools and fountains, big trees, out buildings.  No more. There are some, but no more pools.
The photos are all above.

Then we moved on to lunch. We forgot to wear our green socks today! Tandy gave me st Patrick's day socks, 2 pair, so Mike and I were both going to wear a pair. With shorts ( or capris, in my case). And, sadly, we totally forgot to put them on. But on our way to the river walk area, we passed an Irish Pub with lunch specials, so in we went. Ha. I took one of their derby hats. I think it was O'Brian's. Live music, outdoor shady courtyard. So-so food, but generous portions. Good fries. They dyed their fountain green and all the servers were wearing plenty of green.

On to the river walk area and the narrated boat ride. It's still fun.
A theater on the river where Miss Congeniality was filmed.

Then we headed on our walk to the Tower of the Americas. In a round-a-bout way due to construction. Around and under and through a huge convention center. Finally found it. It's hard to miss a 700 foot tall tower. Ha.

Lots of views from the observation deck. The WINDY observation deck!

Unfortunately, we didn't have time to watch the 4D movies that came with the tickets I bought. They are about an hour apart...and our parking time was about up. Oh well. I could have extended, but didn't know that till later.

Then Hayden and I left Grandpa to wait for us there while we went to get the car. My parking time was about up. I was hoping we could find it fairly easily. And we did, with a quick stop for a magnet in the gift shop.

We found Mike after getting the rental car out of the lot and navigating through all the construction. Drove through pre-rush hour traffic back to Tandy's . Fun long day.

I'm bushed 🥱 and ready for a dip into the pool....the wind seems to be kicking up again,  too.😐
