Parotid gland?

 Did you know there was such a thing as a parotid gland? It's a salivary gland and it's HUGE! Mine is obstructed and very swollen. 

It only hurts because it is SO swollen

 

Warm compresses, an antibiotic, lots of fluids. Should clear up okay. Who knew?

 

Certainly not me!

Here's an interesting little side note. I saw the InstaCare doctor on Monday morning. Tuesday morning, my primary care physicians office called me, knowing that I had been to the InstaCare Clinic, and checking up on me to make sure that the treatment was working! They even offered to make a follow-up appointment with me later to make sure all was well. I did not make the appointment, because I think 10 days of antibiotics and warm compresses, etc. will be more than adequate and this will clear up on its own. Well, not on its own, but with all those helps. Should I feel well cared for? Or should I feel that my doctor's office was jealous that I didn't come to them instead of the instacare. :-)
