Tuesday-- getting to San Antonio

And unremarkable drive to Texas today. The weather was mild, though plenty of wind.  Our Hotel on Soccoro left much to be desired, but the office person was nice enough to get us rooms on the bottom floor-- easier for Pam. The beds were comfy, the water tasted good...that was okay, even tho Our toilet lid and seat wouldn't stay up. That was tricky.  And the floor was vinyl, so I left my shoes on while inside. It just felt crunchy because it's dusty desert around there.

We didn't realize just how early we had retired until Mike's phone rang and kind of shook us awake. . . at 9:50 pm. ( A Bishopric counsellor was asking him to speak in Church on Sunday. Alas, we will not be home for Church on the 11th-- Mother's Day! ) We knew we'd never be able to get back to sleep THAT early, so stayed up and watched TV for another hour. I have been watching "Cranford" on BYU TV on my phone. ;-)

The next morning, Tuesday, we had waffles at the hotel breakfast room, packed up and were on the road by about 8 am or so.

On the road again! Texas is big. Very.

Long, but uneventful, just the way we like our drives on road trips to be! We picnicked a long the way. We got into San Antonio about 7:15 pm or so on Tuesday evening.  Ate breakfast for dinner around 8 pm with Damian, Ella and Tandy. Slept great. Such a comfy and clean home. I always tell Tandy how much we love coming to "The Liebhardt Resort."

Pretty clouds and a cute rest stop WITH TREES. We had a late lunch here. The wind drove us away from our first stop choice. I opened the truck door and the wind whipped it out of my hand. We drove on. Ha.

Mike hauling the cooler back to the truck. . . Past the "watch for snakes" sign (!)

I didn't take any photos of our 'breakfast for dinner' meal with the Liebhardt's, or visits. But we were ALL tired slugs. Ha. Weary after two long days of driving, especially Mike. He drove all the way!
