Fire!

It's been a while since I've been blogging. Not that I don't LOOK at blogs, mind you. I do! I love looking at cute grandbabies having fun, cousins doing the same, friends and family all around. So keep up the good work!

I just wanted to post a couple of photos Eric and I took this evening. That's quite a fire! It's south of us, I think in the Pine Valley Mountains. Mike and I were at a wedding reception this evening and ash was falling out of the sky onto the dark table cloths! And Eric reported that a friend told him that New Harmony was being evacuated. It's pretty smokey around here. Does make for a pretty sunset, though. You can click on the images to make them bigger.

This one was taken on Sunday evening from about the same area on South Main street, looking south. The wind has changed directions. Mike and I took a drive Sunday evening to see just how much of the mountains were burning. Fierce winds have been prevalent.

The view from the freeway looking toward sunset. Lots of smoke, structures lost in New Harmony. And it's still going strong. It's very ashy in town, too.

We've even had smokey skies! There aren't even any fires up in these parts! Sheesh... can't you guys keep all that ashy stuff down there? Please :-)
