"The Meeting That Shall NOT Be Named"

We know that the LDS church does not have Missionary Farewells any longer. Sacrament meeting is just that--a Sacrament meeting. However, Eric WILL have the opportunity to speak in our Ward Sacrament meeting on September 20 at the 9:00 a.m. meeting. This is a change from a previous date. He was originally scheduled to speak on the 13th, which is also his 19 th birthday (cool), but that was changed this week. Seems the weekend of the 13th our stake will have Apostle speaking, so there will be no ward or block meetings, just a large gathering of TWO stakes (because ours was recently split) in the Centrum. Elder Cook of the Quorum of the Twelve will be here. I don't know what time that meeting will be, but it has been 17 years since the Cedar West Stake has been blessed with the presence of an apostle, so since he's coming to do training that weekend on Saturday, we are the lucky ones to hear him speak to our stake on Sunday. Rather spontaneous, but nice. It just changes things for a few people. I think we'll still celebrate Eric's birthday on the 13th, have some family come, etc. and we'll party again the following week when he speaks and have MORE friends and family join us in our home. Feel free to come to one or both. ;-)

Yay for Elder Eric! He'll be great. So excited for you guys.

Having an apostle in your midst will be pretty awesome too! Pres. Eyring came to Nephi a couple of years back. So AWESOME!!
