Retirement

 1 year, 1 month and 20 days.

Not too bad.

IS it bad to be counting?

Maybe. Maybe not.

I did fill in some boxes today on reports that need doing. That's good. I'm making progress.

This new ILS is difficult for me, but I'm still trying.

The end.

House

There is still much to do, BUT

We have some flooring in our Dining area!!!

Below:

We have finished texture in the bedroom on ALL of the walls and the ceiling.

The same in the bathroom:finished texture and primer and paint on all walls and ceiling.
I thought we were going to see the end in sight; however, it has been decided that we may as well get carpet for the rest of the upstairs (and get a bulk price rather than one room price). And when you do that, you may as well paint, too. And since the back half of the house is a different texture on the walls, Mike wants to re-do that, too.   So we will never be done. Ha. Kitchen and Master Bedroom first, though.
I mean, we have to have somewhere to put all the stuff in the two upstairs bedrooms and living room.yikes.

Fall a baptism and a parade

I think it may be time to retire our front yard dining room. Its Fall. Nights and evenings are cool.
It's nice to see our front trees in their glory. This tree has had struggles through the years . Borer  bugs, other pests, a lot of die back. There is still much dead wood to clean out, but it is much improved.

This is the favorite part of my daily commute. Picture the 60+year old lady, on her bike, crunching through the leaves. 'Tis a delight.
Saturday the 23rd of October we attended Helen Boswell 's baptism. Lovely day.

Then we stopped to see the Sheep parade on our way home. I think we were a bit overdressed for parade viewing.

First breakfast in the "new" room

We had a few extra people at our house on Saturday night, October 10. Katie and Casey have spent the last 2 weeks in Southern Utah. They have been staying in St. George. Casey worked during the day, remotely, and he was helping with computer networks in his two brothers' homes down there when he wasn't working remotely. He did work a lot, had lots of conference calls. He was busy. Katie was busy with school for kids most days. Then they spent their Saturday helping Casey's parents with a huge storage-unit clean-out project which included many hours of sorting and moving and consolidating AND many trips to the dump! They worked hard. I am sure his parents really appreciated the help. I tended the twins once for them while they worked a while, and we kept the kids (all four) at our house the last Saturday night they were here so Katie and Casey could have a belated anniversary celebration together with no kids.  Those kids are hard to get to sleep! It took until about 11 pm, and I'd worked hard all day and was tired. I hope they slept all night. I sure did. ha. After I put them to bed once at 10 pm, I heard noises and went down to investigate. They were all up, bouncing around on the bed, the bedding was all torn off the bed, the blankets were strewn all over the place or tangled around them, they' steamed it up with all four heated bodies. It was like a sauna in there. Those kids are crazy!  So I separated them and tried again. I think it 'stuck' that time.  Where they get all their energy is beyond me! Crazy kids.  Four kids and a dog. I hope I wasn't too "Grumpy Grandma" on them so they'll have good memories of times at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Sunday morning, we fed everyone breakfast of waffles and pancakes. We got to break in our new kitchen and dining area! First meal in that new area of the house. Woo Hoo! Exciting times. Things are getting done, slowly but surely.  Shoes are required (because you can get slivers in your feet if you don't!). Katie and  Casey picked up the kids and dog and all the stuff that goes with them, packed up and headed home after a stop at Brookdale to see grandma and grandpa Autrey and thank him for the cool wooden cars and trucks he gave them. Everyone in the photo (with Mike laying on the bed, listening to his audio book with ear phones) was connected to a device as soon as breakfast was over. EVERY SINGLE one.  At least I was able to separate them from their toys last night. I took them all away for the night.

It's almost Mid-October. We have had no rain in such a long, long time.

Yet this rose continues to bloom (because I water it, along with our apple tree).

October 3, 2020

While Mike was celebrating his birthday in Vernal with his siblings (Thursday the 1st through Sunday October 4), some of our children happened to be in town and were able to spend time with their siblings! We had a busy afternoon. Katie and Casey are in southern Utah to do some work and service. I tended their twins in the afternoon on Saturday so they could work on cleaning out a storage unit for someone in Casey's family. The Twins and I had a lot of fun, blowing bubbles, throwing balls, playing with Marbleworks, hopscotch on the front sidewalk,  having snacks. I also did laundry and cleaning. Then they all had to rush of to a nephew's baseball game. And very soon after they left later  in the afternoon, Nick and his family drove over from Bryce Canyon where they had been hiking with friends all day.  We had dinner together on the front lawn, they kindly provided the pizza. And then when dinner was over, Katie and Casey came by with their whole family. They had been at the ballgame and out to eat with Casey's  brother's family. It was a busy evening of Little Liebhards on the front lawn! We had children swinging from the limbs of the tree, jumping off of the planter blocks, running up and down the street, chasing each other, throwing balls, kicking balls, playing with the hula hoop, playing hop scotch, eating apples, and it was just a lot of loud and noisy and happy fun. Nick and Kaylee and Katie and Casey got to spend some time together. I got to see seven of the 12 grandkids. Obviously, we don't do much Social distancing. But the cousins did have a good time. :-) I'm so glad they could all be here.

Someone always has to be a goof.

Casey's trying to have a conversation with Jane, .... but....
Jane's being a bit shy.
I think Rachel may have eaten about three apples.
This Quintin boy is a CHAMPION at hopscotch !!
Logan demonstrates his kicking skills.

There is a LOT going on in the photo above.
Swinging on the tree branch was popular.
Chasing balls and brothers and cousins was going on.

And Hula Hoops!

The ones below were taken earlier in the day while I was home with the twins. Just the three of us!

September and the House project

There HAS been progress, but it just seems really really slow.  It wasn't until the very end of September that the sheetrock was hung. We are still waiting for the mud. Never heard from him, so Mike just started on his own. Poor guy. His shoulders cannot handle that kind of stuff.
