And this list makes it looks like,"Wow, look at you girls go! Seeing all those sites and getting all around town!" What you DON'T see or hear are our groans and sighs of fatigue and sheer exhaustion as we collapse onto our bed as soon as we get back to our room! And the moans and groans as we attempt to get up or roll over. Ugh . Yes, we are a couple of old ladies and it feels like it some times.
We went to a nice local neighborhood just a couple of blocks UP the street for our dinner. It was a restaurant that allows smoking indoors, so that wasn't pleasant. I had some pasta ; Athena had a salad with Chicken. It was reasonably priced, close to our hotel and very tasty.
These are not in very good order. The neighborhood just a few blocks up the street from our hotel. The neighborhood at night was busy and vibrant with restaurants.
This is one of the "Fish Boats" by the Galata Bridge. They grill the mackarel right there on the boat and serve them to customers. i have to admit, my stomach did not appreciate the smell of those fish.
Another view of the boat. There are about three in a row a this pier and tables surrounding them are filled with customers consuming the fresh fish sandwiches--thick bread, slab-o-fish (grilled) and a sprinkle of lettuce. Did not look appealing to me.
looking at the bridge from the fish boat area. It's a big tourist area, that's for sure! Very crowded.
I just thought this stripey hotel was kind of cute. We were waiting for the tram (electric train) back to our neighborhood. It was a full one stop away! We didn't realize just how close it was. But it was too far for me to walk, that's for sure. I was at the point of my illness where I needed to find bathrooms quite frequently now. Athena went out to find some drugs for me the next morning.
