Dec 2nd visit to SLC, 2021

Our main purpose driving up to Salt Lake today was to see Jannae. But, we also made arrangements to meet Elder and Sister Bauer for lunch (Roy and Mickey).

Uneventful drive to SLC, and I was grateful that I happened to see the traffic billboard notifying drivers that I-15 was stopped ahead, so we were able to get off and just take Bangerter Hwy instead. Otherwise, it would have been an hour delay and we did not have time to spare!

We met Roy and Mickey at the JSMB and ate at the Nauvoo Cafe in there. They usually eat at the COB, but have special privileges to do so. (Their days are so full of abbreviations for everything) Guests aren't permitted. They are still training for serving at the Church History Library. After we ate, we walked over to the library with them since they needed to get back to work, and who should be working at the front desk but Mike's High School classmate, Rex Osborne. And his wife. They just started their mission last month. Small world. We looked at the lobby  exhibits, then left.

Here's a picture of us and the Bauer's.

We really enjoyed seeing the construction site on Temple Square. The temple renovations are incredible. Just wow. Big. Impressive. Massive. Amazing.  I love construction stuff.

We found our car, figured out how to pay for parking( only took three times), and headed to the U if U Nielsen Rehab Hospital to visit Jannae. She was still in physical Therapy, but we had a nice visit with Joe while waiting for her and Monica to return.

Jannae has improved a lot, but there's still a long road ahead. She is scheduled to be released on Monday. We wish her well. Home Health and continuing therapy will play a major role in the coming months.

Then we drove home and we're back by 8 pm. Mike enjoyed his audio book; I snoozed a lot.
