Fourth of July fun

First, the Parade in quaint Kanarraville.

Gail, Jonathan and Caroline.

Braeden, Ellia and their second cousin Ellie.

Katie & family

Even Grandma Autrey came again this year!

The parade lasts about ten minutes, enough time to make it worth having your hair done. THIS year, none of the family was IN the parade for a switch. Tandy provided Silly String to squirt AT the paraders,  instead.

Next came the candy drop. It always fun, exciting, windy. And a bit confusing. No one seemed to know that THREE choppers were coming to drop loads of candy on the grass, so the area was swarmed after two. The third chopper was waiting for them to clear for the last drop, got tired of waiting and it got dumped on top of them. Ha. No injuries were reported.

Then the patriotic program. My Mom stayed for that. We sang songs. Our Grandchildren won prizes for the early morning fun run, we sang more songs, honored our military....it was nice, short and sweet. Fun small town flavor, which is why we love it.

Many of Pam's family came-- Coleen and John from California with ALL their three grown children and ALL 8 of their grandchildren!! Plus Pam's sister in law Tammy and many of her children and grandchildren. Pam's brother, Cornell, did not come as he has such poor health. So sad. He is my age and I'm so grateful for my good health.

We had a lovely evening meal that Tandy and company fixed. It was enough to feed an Army at Pam's house. And it was almost an Army! I think Tandy said there would be forty- five. Seventeen were mine. Katie and Gail and Eric and partners plus Hailey went to a concert in St. George that evening instead of dinner and fireworks in Kanarraville.
Photos are out of order. The dinner was first-- dutch oven chicken and potatoes, salads, rolls, home made ice cream for dessert -- with raspberry sauce for dessert.

Glow sticks were a lot of fun for many kids.

Mike and I were in charge of Jonathan, Corbin, Hayden and Quintin for the evening while their parents were at the concert.

Nick and Kaylee helping their little ones with the fireworks.

Look closely and you can see Hayden practically upside down on the swing. They have a fun playground in Kanarraville.

I asked Ella to take my phone around and get photos of the people at dinner. She obliged. I took some of the water fights.

Back yard water fight.

Hayden is the only kid I know who wears long pants year round. He was thoroughly drenched. (Red shirt, gray pants, running hard)

Tacos. My house. Saturday, July 1, 2023. Fun times!!

Some of the kids attended a concert in St. George. It was outdoors and very HOT, but they enjoyed it😊
