Florida Saturday the 19th of July

 Oh, it's HOT here!!

Donna made us a big yummy breakfast at Sally's house this morning.
Biscuits, sausage and gravy, eggs. Yum.
Mike and Corbin and David and I went to the Armaments Museum. Big! Many planes outside in the stifling and intense heat. Many more inside with delightful air conditioning.
Mike could have spent more hours there, reading every placard, viewing each video and exhibit. Corbin doesn't have that long of an attention span, poor kid. There were some cool things there, though. He even bought souvenirs.

Then we went to Walmart and bought water, food and ice for fishing trip Monday. Sandwich stuff, as well as dinner ingredients for Corbin to make his chicken quesadillas.

We had a light, snack-y  lunch of crackers and fruit and veggies and drinks.

We swam in Sally's pool in the afternoon.

We cleaned up and met Liz and Alex at Flounders in Pensacola beach. Unfortunately, we didn't stay to hear his band. We were all just so beat and so stuffed. 50 minutes to go. . .we almost made it. But it was a fun cool, hip place, chuck full of tourists and bare butted thong bikini-wearers. Eek! I'm not used to viewing so many butt cheeks! Sand volleyball was better. Some rather hot guys ( I mean, it was over 90 degrees!) playing 2 on 2 in the sand was fun to watch.

Corbin and I walked out on the pier while waiting for our tables to be prepped. There were 10 of us, and three came later! ( Alex's Parents and nephew). The restaurant was so big and so busy. Good food. Too much food!
Drive home, brush teeth and go to bed. ZZZzzz

Photos!
Museum. So so hot and muggy outside!  Corbin was dying.

These aircraft are so massive. Those are some not very tiny people waaaay back there, looking, but it's even longer than THAT!

I just thought these were funny signs.
Well, Duh. Plus, I really didn't think any of these were operational. But maybe they are!

But wait! Here's the group at breakfast. Sadly, I had a murky camera lens that should have been cleaned.
Or, maybe the lens was just covered in HUMIDITY!!!
Check out the wet, wet windows in the house. ( The moisture is outside.)

We are all here. Fun group.

More museum:
Corbin is reading the plaque for this big ol' Blackbird.  Otherwise known as Stealth fighter? Maybe.

This ol' chopper reminded me of the big mean grasshopper in A Bugs Life. Or Ants. Or one of those buggy animated films.

The helicopter rotors are all tied down and stabilized so they won't turn or blow in the wind. Also, there are SIX blades. There's room for eight.

I read stories about the bomber bellies that were little bubbles on the bottom. Here's one. One story I read ( Was it Catch 22?) had the fellow stuck in that bubble, it was time to land, the landing gear no longer worked. . .. yeah, sad story.

MOAB stands for "Mother Of All Bombs".

Inside the building were many more planes, bombs, displays, offices, films, etc.  It was a good museum. Thank you, David, for buying us all a bottle of water!❤️ 💧

Here are the pool people. David did join us later, in his Buc-ees 's swim trunks😆

And here are photos of the massive amounts of food we attempted to consume at Flounders, Pensacola Beach. After over an hour drive to get there....over some areas of miles and  miles by the shore with 25 mph speed limits!!
I ordered a small salad. It filled the entire large take home box!!
We also had appetizers that aren't shown cuz we ate some firecracker shrimp, too. And rolls! Corbin ate a few of those on his own.

Mike and I shared a shrimp platter. We brought some home, too.

Corbin ate all his rib eye steak. Only a few fries. Didn't touch the tomato. Or onion rings garnish.

Alex and Liz shared these two Sushi Rolls. Pretty. But full of raw fish and beef. No  Thanks. They had shrimp and spinach dip with chips, too, and barely touched it. Remember, ime and I don't like to waste food. See my previous blog post from ALA in Las Vegas, NV
.haha.

And I'll never be better at selfies, I guess☹️

Here's Corbin waiting around out on the pier. We are on the bay side of Pensacola Beach. So pretty,.. clear water. Very crowded.

Eeek!

Corbin's nose did get a bit of sunburn today in the pool this afternoon.
