Quick KNEE trip to SLC , Saratoga Springs

Mike goes periodically for injections in his knee up to in Salt Lake City. Usually he goes alone for an afternoon appointment and makes it an up-and-back, one day trip. This time, the only appointment was in the morning, so I decided to tag along. Cuz I'm retired and can. ha.

His appointment was Wednesday morning, April 19, so we left Tuesday afternoon after I took Mom grocery shopping. Mike and I  stayed the night at Nick and Kaylee's house, enjoyed dinner with them and their kids, and we enjoyed a fun audio book up and back in the truck.

AND, we made an appointment to attend the Saratoga Springs Temple open house. It probably wasn't good to make Mike walk around so much , right after his injection, but he's okay. We drove right home after that. Kaylee fed us lunch before we left their house, so it was easy to just get on the road, but we opted to come home from the Temple via Mona.  It's such a Pretty, rural drive and far more relaxing than the freeway-- for a little way, anyway

Mike and I agree that the open house was so lovely. Well-organized, reverent. And, of course, very beautiful! Our Cedar City temple seems so small in comparison! Because it is.😉 We have far less stained glass windows, too. Theirs was quite lovely. Everything was.

We got home to Cedar City, we ate out at Chili's for dinner and split a fajita plate. And we brought home leftovers for another lunch.

Some pictures of the grandkids:

On Tuesday evening, Rachel invited us to her room for a "Performance". So of course Emily is jumping on the bed in excitement and anticipation.

The Audience.

Rachel and Jane twirling ribbon streamers to music.

And more jumping on the bed.

Then they moved the performance to the family room.
And added costumes! Twirling dresses are the best, right?

While Mike went to get his shot Wednesday morning, we enjoyed Breakfast.

Here's all four kids watching a CEMENT POUR from the front window. They were pumping it out back to Nick's new workshop he's building. The foundation is now done! On to framing!!

I think I might have had a heart attack if I'd ever walked into my kitchen and found this. This is 8 year old Rachel, in her very striped jammies, standing on the kitchen counter. I'm sure mine did this this, too. They just didn't do it when I could SEE them. These kids are so agile-- they are like mountain goats!

We enjoyed wagon rides in the house because it was kind of cool outside. Jane (age almost 4) pulling Emily ( almost two).

We saw more ribbon-twirling demonstrations, this time by Logan (age 6 1/2).

And more games and toys and puzzles!
