Mission accomplished! We managed to keep all four kids alive, delivered to various activities, fed, ....I guess that was about it.
KATIE AND CASEY ARE HOME!! The kids were so excited. The travelers are so tired. But they had a good trip, got home and then had to turn around and take us to the far-away Denver International Airport.
We did have fun with the grands. In our free time, we read and watched movies. Cooked. Cleaned. Did laundry. Napped. This was while they were at school all day.or, half the day for some.
I got a lot of films checked off my list. We watched "Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile" with the kids on Thursday night. ( maybe it was Wednesday)
Mike and I watched the 2022 version of Elvis. Meh. Tom Hanks played Col Parker. Icky character. We watched a silly "Bewitched" movie with Nicole Kidman and that Buddy the Elf guy....what's his name. Will Ferrell. I watched the two film specials of Downton Abbey, and those were good. That was probably about it. Lots of dishes and sweeping.
Lots of driving. I thought the badges with barcodes was "high tech", like to track children as they got on and off the bus, but Katie said that families have to pay $250 per child to ride the bus. So it tracks their use! And then they are short on bus drivers, so they don't get to ride the bus for one week out of every five. Crazy. So much driving to and from , twice a day. High school, Jr High. Probably Elementary too, but that wasn't this particular week. Luckily-- their elementary school is furthest away.
And we will try not to fly Spirit Airlines ever again. Two flights, BOTH extremely delayed.
